Biodesign Lab is setup at School of Health Sciences & Technology, University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES), Dehradun, Uttarakhand, India. Established in a beautiful valley, surrounded by the great Himalayas, Biodesign lab has the perfect ecosystem to learn from nature.

Nature has built plethora of prototypes of sophisticated bio-sensors and machines through self assembly of materials. Its manufacturing units follow the key themes of multifunctionality, additive manufacturing, and biodegradability.

Here at the Biodesign Lab, we believe in hand-on experimentation and building things from scratch and that translation of an idea into a product is as important as the idea itself. We derive inspiration from natural materials, machines, and processes to find sustainable solutions to applied and fundamental problems in the fields of agriculture, energy, and healthcare.
